Ms. Maureen Geraghty Bouchard, 3130 West 145th Street, Rosemount, will be presenting a request from
the Rosemount Historical Preservation. Ms. Bouchard is requesting initial approval to relocate the old
Baptist church, currently located on Cameo Street near 146th Street, to the northeast portion of Schwarz
'`� Park (see attached map).

�y Once relocated, the church will be refurbished and used as a chapel, historical information center, and will
� display historical relics. Rosemount Historical Preservation is requesting to lease a portion of park
; property for the church. They are also requesting assistance with the project from Ciry staff.

%' This request was presented to the Parks and Recreation Committee on May 15, 1995. The Parks and
� Recreation Committee supported the idea of relocating the church on park property provided it was
� approved by City Council. The Committee inquired about funding and asked if the City was expected to
�; contribute. Ms. Bouchard indicated that the City was not expected to provide funds. However, they are ,
�� requested staff assistance. I have asked this group to be more specific with the type of assistance they are
��i requesting.

%; Ms. Bouchard estimates the following costs: $15,000 to move the church, $10,000 for utilities, and
�� $100,000 for renovation. She is expecting to raise funds for this project with grants from private
f i� foundations and other fundraising.

l City Council is asked to respond to Rosemount Historical Preservation's request to lease a portion of
� Schwarz Park and to provide staff assistance for the relocation of the old Baptist church.
