In the past month the City has been receiving a number of phone calls from concerned
residents regarding the hazard that is created when people park on 130th Street between
Trunk Highway 3 and Bolivia Avenue. We understand that the fishing is good in the
ponds on either side of 130th Street and it actually has become a traffic hazard at certain
times of the day. The street at this point is very narrow with very narrow or virtually no
shoulder to park on. The water would prohibit any widening of the road and it is
probably unnecessary if we can eliminate the parking that is taking place on the street.
An alternative parking place, which is much more safe, is on Bolivia Avenue, which is
very close to the good fishing spot.
Therefore, we are requesting a resolution be passed to establish "No Parking" on this
section of roadway. This will alleviate the citizens concerns and not cause a traffic
hazard.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING "NO
PARKING" SIGNS ALONG 130TH STREET BETWEEN TRUNK HIGHWAY 3 AND BOLIVIA
AVENUE.

A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF NO PARKING
SIGNS ALONG 130TH STREET BETWEEN TRUNK HIGHWAY 3 AND
AND BOLIVIA AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount is interested in the safety of its
residents; and
WHEREAS, vehicle parking along both sides of 130th Street between Trunk Highway 3 and
Bolivia Avenue does create a hazard.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount directs
the installation of the appropriate "No Parking" signs on both sides of 130th Street between
Trunk Highway 3 and Bolivia Avenue.
ADOPTED this 20th day of June, 1995.
