Attached is a letter from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA)
asking that a member of the Rosemount City Council serve on a newly formed '
task force. The purpose of the committee is to design and review research
activities to determine whether Koch Refinery is a health risk to
neighboring communities. As the letter states, officials from the MPCA,
University of Minnesota, the County and other cities will serve on the
committee. The first meeting is July 19, from 3 :00 p.m. to 5: 30 p.m. , at
the Dakota County Western Service Center in Apple Valley. At this first
meeting it will be decided when and how often this committee will meet. If
it is more accommodating for the majority of inembers to meet in the
evening, then evening meetings will be held.
Please consider serving on this committee.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPOINT TO
REPRESENT THE CITY OF ROSEMOUNT ON THE MPCA/KOCH REFINING TASK FORCE.
