RESOLUTION 1993-
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING IIPDATE 2000, A MAJOR REVISION TO THE
COMPREHENSIVE GIIIDE PLAN OF THE CITY OF ROSEMOUNT
WSEREAS, a comprehensive guide plan is a statement of goals and
policies of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Use Planning Act requires all
communities in the Minneapoiis-St. Paul Metropolitan Area to
pre�are a comprehensive plan providing for orderly and staged
development; and
�THEREAS, the 1980 Comprehensive Guide Plan no longer reflects
present or anticipated conditions in the City of Rosemount; and
WHEREAS, the Rosemount Planning Commission and City Council have
held public meetings and studied the changes that have taken
place within the City of Rosemount since the adoption of the 1980
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council with the
assistance of the other advisory agencies of the City and the
input of citizens, landowners, and developers have prepared a
major revision to the 1980 Comprehensive Guide Plan; and
WHEREAS, the revision is designed to guide growth and development
within the City through the year 2000 and beyond; and
WHEREAS, the revision is developed in accordance with the
Metropolitan DeveZopment Investment Framework requirements of the
Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, after due deliberation the Rosemount Planning Commission
and City Council have thoroughly andiewed all sections contained
within the proposed Update 2000,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held jointly by the Rosemount
Planning Commission and City Council on March 10, 1993 in
aceordance wi�h Minnesata State Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reeommended approval of the
plan to the City Council, in accordance with the Minnesota State
Statutes .

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Rosemount forwards Update 2000 to the Metropolitan Council for
review; and
BE IT FIIRTHER RESOLVED, that the Rosemount City Council does
hereby adopt Update 2000 as the Comprehensive Guide Plan for the
City of Rosemount contingent upon Metropolitan Council aetion.
