This is a monthly update on the Community Center and rmory.
1) Construction - �he project is on schetlule as of 5-27-93 . Roofing is
being applied to the majority of the Armory portion. Steel is being
erected on the arena and theatre. Brick work on the exterior is almost
complete on the Armory section. By June 15th steel joists and roofing is
expected to be worked on for the arena and theatre.
The demolition of the buildings on Highway #3 was delayed a few days
because there was a small amount of oil contaminated soil found and had to
be taken care of. The demolition is back on track and should be completed
in a timely fashion so as not to delay the project. The contractor which
will be doing the stormwater work can start on grubbing trees etc and
should not be held up by the slight delay on the demolition.
No ma.jor groblems have arisen to cause concern about the completion on
schedule as of now. The State, the contractors and the Architect are all
continuing to work well together to ma.intain the schedule.
2)Arena scheduling - we are continuing to get requests for additional ice
time for the opening season. With our arena ma.nager starting on June 2,
completing the ice use schedule and firming up contracts will be a

3) Equipment purchases - in order to meet opening schedules another item to
come to the Council very quickly will be the approval of the furnishings
for the office area and the banquet hall . These items were not in the bid
for the construction of the facility but funds were budgeted in the
issuance of the bonds for the project. With several months lead time
needed to place and complete an order this also will be a priority.
4) Project Tour - T would like to arrange a project tour sometime in June
after the steel work is completed on the City portion of the building.
I will try to set something up for an evening in late June.
