Thanks� to the hard work of John Miller and the Star City Committee, the
city has received recertification as a °Minnesota Star City. "
This is a reflection of the continuing effort of the Star City Committee
and city staff to ma.intain those programs which are meaningful and useful
in business retention and business development. It also reflects the City
Council' s support for this ongoing effort.

Congratulations! The City of Rosemount has been Recertified
as a Minnesota Star City for 1993. I
Your Community must be very proud of its innovative Economic
Development Team! Its goals are the catalyst that propels your
City's productive job creation strategies and enables a bright
and promising future for Rosemount.
Part of maintaining a successful economic development
program is ensuring that both commercial and residential sectors
of a community have adequate infrastructure faailities to meet �
current demand as well as future grawth. The City of Rosemount
is doing a excellent job of working with both sectors of the
community in preparing for the road improvements and the possible
. move of the airport and how these will the effect future of your
industrial capacity. Also, efforts with the County HRA to
redevelop the downtown area and assist with housing development
will play a role in new business growth.,

The goal of developing a comprehensive marketing approach
that not only addresses local business retention and expansion
activities, but also iocuses on ,attracting new business into the
area. The Development of an effective marketing proqram plays an
important role in creating a sustainable economic development
program.
