Gloria Olson.
Ma.rion McNearney has resigned from the Community Center Commission for
medical reasons. She is scheduled for knee surgery and has great
difficulty with mobility. She was selected by the Rosemount Senior Citizen
Center to serve on the Community Center Commission as a charter member.
Marion will be missed.
Upon Marion' s resignation, Community Center Commission Chair Lee Knutson
solicited another recruit from the Senior Citizen Center who in turn
recommended Gloria Olson. Gloria, a 42 year resident of Rosemount and
former food service employee of School District 196, possesses a multitude
of volunteer experience and has served the Rosemount community for ma.ny
years. Lee Knutson has known Gloria for a long time and has echoed the
recommendation. The Community Center Commission has met Gloria, reviewed
her qualifications, and recommends City Council to appoint her as alternate
for Community Center Commissioner. Mayor McMenomy has been apprised of the
vacancy and also recommends Gloria for the position.
If approved by City Council, Gloria Olson will officially serve as
Community Center Commissioner on April 14, 1994 . Her term will expire on
December 31, 1996 .
RECObIl�tENDED ACTION: Motion to accept the resignation of Marion McNearney
as Community Center Commissioner. Motion to approve the appointment of
Gloria Olson as alternate for Community Center Commissioner.
