During the 1994 budgeting process we identified the need for a
diagnostic computer for the maintenance shop. An amount of $6000 was
budgeted and approved in the 1994 CIP (202-49002-01-582) .
We have done our research and made a selection. We are proposing to
purchase a used scope from Snap -0n Tools . It is a Sun model 1805
Interrogator. It is coming to us with all attachments and updates for
all automotive makes and models through 1994 . The cost of this
equipment new in 1988 was $30, 680 . This scope will enable us to do
computer driveability tests and pre-emissions tests on all gasoline
powered vehicles. Everything from starter load tests through emission
control modules can be analyzed with this machine. The use of this
equipment will save us contracting undiagnosed work out, some of which
could be performed in our shop for much less expense.
We are asking for your continued support for this item and approval to ,
spend $6, 000 from CIP Account No. 202-49002-01-582 . '

Diagnostic Model 1850 for the amount of $6, 000 from CIP account # 202-
49002-01-582 .
