Director of Public Works/Building Official ���� � � � ATTACF�lENTS: Application/Resume APPROVED BY: With the resignation of Mike Fricke as building inspector, we were left with a vacancy which Council authorized filling at their regular meeting of February 15, 1994 . � We advertised for two consecutive weeks in the Star Tribune and received 25 applicants . Five were selected for interviews . Initial interviews were held Thursday Ma.rch 24th. Two candidates were selected from the five interviews for a second interview, That interview resulted in a selection of Mr. Jack Moe as our recommendation for the position. Reference and background checks provided all good recommendations . Mr. Moe has a strong experience background in building construction. He has also been an instructor in technical college systems . Mr. Moe has spent the last three years as the Building Official in St. Peter, Minnesota. He is currently employed at Northfield and is looking to work closer to his home in Richfield. Pending your approval, Mr. Moe' s successful passing of an pre- employment physical, and a drivers license check, Jack is expected to start April 18, 1994 . I am recommending that he start at the beginning of the A range for Building Inspector. That rate as identified in the 1994 AFSCME contract is $28, 882 .35 . RECObIlylENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the hiring of Mr. Jack Moe as building inspector at an annual salary starting at $28, 882 .35 pending passing a pre-employment physical and completion of a drivers license check.
