On Friday, May 27, 1994; bids for the referenced project were received and read aloud
publicly. Five bids were received and are listed for your review on the attached bid
tabulation. Bids ranged from $302,816.80 to $392,429.43. This project was to be
originally let on May 13, but the bids were returned unopened due to an error in the
specifications. This was corrected with an addendum.
The low bid received is from Hennen Construction Co. in the amount of 5302,816.80.
The Engineer's Estimate was $340,800 based on 1993 and 1994 construction costs.
The firm of OSM and Associates, engineer for the project, and Staff recommend the
award of this project to Hennen Construction Co. in the amount of $302,816.80.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SHANNON HILLS 6TH ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT NO. 251.

A RESOLUTION RECEtVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR SHANNON HILLS 6TH ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 251
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of Shannon Hills 6th Addition Street and Utility
Improvements are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of Hennen Construction Company in the amount of 5302,816.80 for
the construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and
specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall
be and hereby is accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract
with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of
the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all
successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a
contract has been executed.

Bids were received for the above-referenced project at 10:00 A.M., May 27, 1994, and were
opened and read aloud. A total of five responsive bids were received. Hennen
Construction Company, 4530 Main Street, Rogers, MN 55374 submitted the lowest bid in
the amount of $302,816.80. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and
tabulated. The Engineer's Estimate was $340,834.40.
We recommend award of the Contract to Hennen Construction Company in the amount of
$302,816.80.
The Bid Tabulation and Bid Extension are enclosed.
