EAGAN POLICE DEPARTMENT REQUEST
Upon entering into the dispatch agreement in 1994 with the Eagan Police
Department, we were required to bring on line a "repeater", which is
located in the Shannon Parkway water tower. In order to do this we needed
an auxiliary receiver and a voting tone board valued at approximately
$2500. 00. These funds were not in the 1994 budget.
To get the repeater in service in a timely manner we used equipment which
the Eagan Police Department had on hand for a future project. This was
done with the understanding that we would replace the equipment at such
time they wished to put it into service.
At this time the Eagan Police Department is bringing another repeater on
line which requires this use of this equipment. Therefore we are
requesting to purchase the following equipment to replace the unit which
is now in use by our department.
1 - General Electric wall-mounted auxiliary receiver Model # ARW03 with
wall-mounted cabinet and a voting tone board Model # ARVTIA.
Three price quotes were received in looking for replacements for this
equipment the least expensive being Capital Communications of St. Paul,
which quoted a price of $1,573 .54.
Funding for this project can come from two accounts.
Account # 101-24456 reserved for squad car phones - $637.56
Account # 202-49002-01-598 council designated - $935.98
Total $1, 573 .54
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
MOTION TO APPROVE THE EXPENDITURE OF $1,573.54 FROM TIIE ABOVE ACCOUNT
NUMBERS.

Dear Chief Knutson:
In December, 1992, the cities of Eagan and Rosemount entered into
an agreement for dispatching services. In order to allow for more
efficient radio transmissions between the Eagan Dispatch Center and
Rosemount Squads, a voting receiver was installed at the Shannon
water tower in Rosemount. The receiver was installed with the
understanding that in Fiscal Year 1994 Rosemount would purchase a
new receiver and give it to Eagan.
This is a request for the replacement of a General Electric wall-
mounted auxiliary receiver Model No. ARW03 with wall-mounted
cabinet and a voting tone board Mod�l No. ARVTIA. This will
replace the Eagan receiver installed at Shannon.
