Sta.ff at the Naval Satellite Operations Center requested City Council to proclaim the week
of July 25, 1994 Navel Satellite Operations Center, Detachment BRAVO Week in the city
of Rosemount.
They have been a "good neighbor" for thirty years and will be closing soon. The City of
Rosemount thanks Detachment BRAVO for adding to the economy of Rosemount and
helping to protect our nation.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to make the proclamation for the 30th
Anniversary of the Naval Satellite Operations Center, Detachment BRAVO, the week of
July 25, 1994, in the City of Rosemount.

PROCLAMATION
30th AN1vIVERSARY FOR DETACHMENT BRAVO
Week of July 25, 1994
WHEREAS, the Naval Satellite Operations Center, Detachment BRAVO,
Rosemount, the only active duty naval base in the great state of Minnesota,
whose mission is to operate as a satellite tracking station for the United States
Navy's TRANSIT Navigation System, performs its mission in direct support of
the national defense of the United States; and
WHEREAS, the TRANSIT spacecraft comprised the world's first satellite
navigation system, as a primary designate of TRANSIT operations, Detachment
BRAVO is one of the nation's oldest space related military detachments; and
WHEREAS, over three decades, the dedicated and professional men and
women stationed at Detachment BRAVO, have achieved continued success in
support of the military mission, their social and economic contributions to the
city of Rosemount and surrounding communities, and their family and personal
achievements; and
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City of Rosemount is proud to
host the thirtieth anniversary of the Naval Satellite Operations Center,
Detachment BRAVO, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in celebration of this effort, proclaims
the week of July 25, 1994, as Naval Satellite Operations Center, Detachment
BRAVO Week in the City of Rosemount.
