On June 14, 1994 the Planning Commission passed a motion
recommending that City Council set a public hearing for a zoning
ordinance text amendment. The proposed amendment creates standards
for and permits cemeteries in the Public and Quasi-Public Zoning
District. The amendment was originally requested by the Islamic
Community of Minnesota for the development of a cemetery. A
commitment was made to the property owner to complete the amendment
by the end of June. Although the Islamic Community have apparently
backed out of their purchase agreement, staff decided to complete
the amendment because the research had been almost complete.
Recommended Actioa: MOTION to schedule a public hearing for
July 5, 1994 at 8 : 00 p.m. or soon thereafter to hear testimony in
consideration of a proposed zoning ordinance text amendment
regarding cemeteries.

CITY OF ROSEMOUN'I' ZONING ORDINANCE
(Cemeteries)
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: �
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the City Council of the City of Rosemount will hold a public
hearing to consider the item listed below on Tuesday, July 5, 1994 in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, 2875 145th Street West, beginning at 8:00 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as possible.
The purpose of this hearing is to consider a text amendment to Ordinance B - City of
Rosemount Zoning Ordinance to permit develogment of cemeteries within the City of
Rosemount creating minimum standards and establishing criteria and conditions for
approval in the Public and Quasi-Public District.
A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review and comment at City Hall
located at 2875 145th Street West, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Persons wishing to speak on these proposed amendment are invited to attend this public
hearing on Tuesdav. :Tul�, 1994 at 8:00 p.m. Formal written comments will also be
accepted prior to the meeting da.te. Please forward all comments and inquiries to the
Planning Department.
