On June 14, 1994 the Planning Commission formally recommended that
City Council schedule a public hearing for a zoning ordinance text
amendment regarding the use of "running and chasing" lights for
commercial advertising purposes on signs and buildings . The
proposal for a text amendment was initiated by a request from
Guetschoff Theaters, Inc. to use special lighting effects on the
marque and architectural "tower° of their movie theater.
Considerable discussion by the Planning Commission at their June
14th meeting resulted in a recommendation for a sign ordinance text
amendment that will be forwarded to the City Council for
consideration.
Recommended Action: MOTION to schedule a public hearing for
July 5, 1994 at 5 : 00 p.m. or soon thereafter to hear testimony
for a zoning ordinance text amendment regarding intermittent
lighting in commercial districts.

CITY OF ROSEMOUNT ZONING ORDINANCE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the City Council of the City of Rosemount will hold a public
hearing to consider the item listed below on T�esday, July 5,1994 in the Council
Chambers of the City FIall, 2875 145th Street West, beginning at 8:00 p.m. or as soon '
thereafter as possible.
The purpose of this hearing is to consider a text amendment to Ordinance B - City of
Rosemount Zoning Ordinance that would permit intermittent lighting on movie theater
marques and the establishment of minimum standards, criteria, and conc�itions for approval.
A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review and comment at City Hall
located at 2875 145th Street West, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monda.y
through Friday.
Persons wishing to speak on these proposed amendment are invited to attend this public
hearing on Tuesday, Julv 5. 1994 at 8:00 p.m. Formal written comments will also be
accepted prior to the meeting da.te. Please forward a11 comments and inquiries to the
Planning Department.
