Community Center Director �ZCn A � � � LIVI ATTACHMENTS: Concept Plan APPROVED BY: Three yeaxs ago the Rosemount Chamber of Commerce chose one of its long term projects the construction of an amphitheater and shelter. The Erickson Community Square Sub-Committee in association with the Parks and Recreation Committee are requesting concept review for the proposed improvements at Erickson Park adjacent to City Hall. The focus of the project is a 3,350 square foot pazk shelter which will be open for year round use. The building contains concessions, a "great room", and restrooms. Plans show two roofed patio areas. The facility is planned to accommodate ceremonies, private events, and programmed activities. The structure will provide warming space for the elcisting hockey rinks adjacent to the shelter. The plan also includes an amphitheater, with seating up to 400, used for concerts, educational programs, and special events. ' A phasing plan has not been completed, however,. the construction of the facility is being divided into divisions. A volunteer will be recruited and made responsible for the planning and execution of each division (see attached). Under the direction of a hired construction manager, a phasing plan should be completed in the near future. The Sub-Committee has been working with a construction manager these past two months. It is the plan of the Sub-Committee to present a final development review to the Planning Commission in the early part of 1995. The estimated completion of the facility is July 31, 1995. Initial grading of the site has been completed. The Planning Commission passed a motion to recommend to City Council approval of the Erickson Square Concept Plan on June 28, 1994.
