Southwest/West Central Educational Cooperative Service Units (ECSU) is a
joint powers group of which the City of Rosemount is a member. Through
this membership, the city receives discounts on its group insurance
policies. Because of Rosemount's geographical location, the city is
grouped with cities located in the southwest and west central part of the
state. Some of these cities are Brainerd, Ely, Fairbault, LeSueur, North
Mankato, etc.
It is necessary for a representative of the city to be appointed by the
City Council to represent Rosemount's interest and to vote on certain
issues such as appointments to an executive committee of this group and
ultimately renewal rate discounts. I would like to serve as the City's
representative because of my involvement in our employees' insurance
programs. My involvement with this group will be minimal, but it's
important for Rosemount to be represented.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPOINT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SUSAN
WALSH TO SERVE AS ROSEMOUNT'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE SDUTHWEST/WEST
CENTRAL EDUCATIONAL COOPERATIVE SERVICE UNITS JOINT POWERS INSURANCE
POOL.
