Every three ysars the bottles that are used on the self-contained breathing -
apparatus units need to be hydro-tested per DOT specifications. All 52
bottles, which the Rosemount Fire Departrnent own, are scheduled to be
tested in 1994 . The cost to test each cylinder is $12, and so far the 52
cylinders we have, the cost would be $624 . There ma be some additional
minor charges if seals, rings, valves, etc. are in need of replacement.
We are seeking authorization at this time to spend up to $624 for the
hydro-testing of our self-contained breathing apparatus bottles. The
bottles will be taken to any of one of many test sites around the Twin City
area depending upon their schedule and if any would offer a quarxtity
discount.
Monies for this scheduled maintenance test have been budgeted in Account
#101-42210-01-310.
