The fire department held its election for the position of Fire Chief for
the City of Rosemount. The election was held on January 25, 1994 at the
annual meeting of the fire department. The person who was elected to serve
a two-year term as Fire Chief for the years 1994 and 1995 was Scott Aker.
Prior to being allawed on the ballot each applicant, according to city
policy, must receive approval from a screening committee. That committee
is headed and organized by the City Administrator with the Mayor, Chief of
Folice and two fire department representatives as members . This committee
did not convene to screen applieants this year.
If the city council would concur with the results of the fire department
eZection, we would look to them to ratify this person for the position of
Eire Chief.
RECObIl4lENDED ACTIDN. Motion to approve Scott Aker as `Rosemount's Fire
Chief for the years 1994 and 1995 .
