ATTACHMENTS: REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND COVER APPROVED BY: LETTER Recently the port authority members approved the language in the attached request for proposal for disposition of the land known locally as the "old post office land remnant . " The RFP has been sent to all adjacent property owners as well as others that were known to have an interest in the property or in providing additional parking for their businesses . It was requested that the proposals be submitted by 4 : 00 on Monday, April 4, along with a deposit . I will give the unopened proposals to Chairperson Carroll prior to the April 5 meeting so they may be opened then. I believe Chairperson Carroll will direct the port authority staff to review and evaluate the proposals for board action at the April 19 meeting. The property is legally described in the attached Request for Proposal. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for the use of the property, please review the attached document and submit your proposal to me by 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 1994. If the RPA selects one of the proposals submitted, it shall quit claim its interests in the Property to the selected proposer. IV. PROPOSAL SUBMISSION REQUIItENIF.NTS In order to be considered, a proposal must meet the following requirements: 1. The proposal must be submitted on the form attached as Exhibit C or a reasonable facsimile thereof. 2. The proposal must be received by John Miller, of the RPA, at Rosemount City Hall, but not later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Apri14, 1994. V. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS RFP All questions regaxding any aspect of this Request for Proposal must be submitted, wither by telephone or in writing, to John Miller, Economic Development Coordinator, of the RPA. Mr. Miller's telephone number is (612) 322-2004, and his address is Rosemount City Hall, 2875 - 145th Street West, Rosemount, MN 55068. 2 EXHIBIT C PROPOSAL FORM FOR PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE RO5EMOUNT PORT AUTHORITY 1. I (We) agree to purchase the Property described in Exhibit A of the Request for Proposal released by the RPA on 7anuary 24, 1994, for the total purchase price of $ 3. Fifty percent of my (our) purchase price is attached to this proposal in the form of a certified or cashier's check. I (We) agree that if I (we) fail to proceed to closing on the above- referenced Property within one calendar month of selection of my (our) proposal, I (we) will forfeit the amount of the certified or cashier's check I (we) have enclosed with my (our) proposal. 4. At the time of closing, I (we) agree to pay the remaining 50 percent of the proposed purchase price to the RPA. I (we) also agree to pay 50 percent of all closing costs and to enter into a Purchase Agreement prior to the closing day in a form satisfactory to the RPA. 5. I (We) intend to apply the Property to the following use(s): 6. I (We) agree to properly maintain the Property consistent with the use I (we) have proposed and described in paragraph 4, above. If I (we) should fail at any time to so maintain the Property, I (we) agree to retum ownership of the Property to the RPA.
