I will appear before the city council on August 17 to request, on behalf of
the port authority, the approval to purchase land for the development of
the Rosemount Business Park.
As you are 'aware the port authority has been studying the Roy Abbott
property for several months having completed concept plans and feasibility
reports. More important, however, the port authority has been looking for
a "first tenant" for the park.
At the August 3 port authority meeting, the commissioners will likely
choose one of two theater developers interested in purchasing land in the
business park. One wishes to buy ten acres and another wants to purchase
7.5 acres.
After this decision is made, the port authority will be able to develop a
pro-forma f,or the business park. That should be available for your review
on August 17.
I will give you a verbal update on the progress that has been made at the
Tuesday night meeting.
