In reco r�.ition of the anniversary of the World War II "war years" (1941-
1945) Lal�eville High School is hosting special events on February 25, 1'993 .
At this vent Dakota County Veteran' s groups and auxiliaries are
represen�ing various organizations in a special ceremony.
In recogr�.ition of this special event, the recognition of the anniversary
and to h nor all those who defended America in this war, Mayor McMenomy
will pro�laim a special "Salute to Dakota County World War II Vets" .

"SALUTE TO DAKOTA COUNTY WORLD WAR II VETS"
FEBRUARY 20 - 27, 1993
WHEREAS, it is the SOth Anniversary of World War II (1941-1945); and
WHEREAS, the Dakota County commanders and presidents of veteran groups and
auxiliaries in our area are honoring this Anniversary with a ceremony; and
WHEREAS, the national touring company of "Radio Days" has produced a tribute to '
reminise with music the era of the 1940's on February ZSth at the Lakeville High
School at 7:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, it is our wish to honor all those who defended America in World War ',

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, E. B. McMenomy, Mayor of
the City of Rosemount, do hereby proclaim the week of February 20th to the 27th,
1993 as:
"SALUTE TO DAKOTA COUNTY WORLD WAR II VETS" '

Commemorating the SOth Anniversary of the`war years' (1941-45),Lakeville High
School is liosting A Tribute to Dakotu County Warld War II Veterans on Thursday,
February 25th at 7:3Q p.m;featuring the national touring company of "Radia Days".
The production is a musical recreation of a 1940s radio show,interweaving tl�e music
of the period with segments from vintage radio serials.
Commanders and presidents of Dakota County veteran groups and au�ciliaries are
representing their respective organizations in an`on stage'ceremany,hono�ing the men and
women of Dakota County who defended the American homefront during Warld''War II.
Area newspa.pers are running feature articles revolving around the impact of World
War II on Dakota County and loca.l communities.In conjunction with the tnbute,we are
requesting that you make a declaradon in your local newspaper one week'prior to
February 25th; honoring the World War II veterans from your community.We've
enclosed a sample proclamation which you may edit as you see fi� '
