The Port Authority opened bids for the demolition of the four armory
property buildings at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13. There were seventeen
bids received ranging from a high bid of $75,000 to a low of $6,121.
Low bidder was R. J. Valek Construction of Spring Park. Randy Valek later
explained to me that his bid was based on his perception that considerable
salvage value existed in the properties.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the bid of R. J. Valek
Construction of $6,121.00 for demolition at the armory site as outlined
in the demolition specifications.
