Uepartment since April 6 , 1992 : Personal goals and endeavors have prompted her to resign from city employment at this time . Her last day with our department wili be Octaber 22 , 1992 . Attached is the job description for the Secretary Aide position . It has been updated to include the ADA infarmation relating to this position . Because of the update Council action is requested to approve � the new job descra.ption . Council authori-zataon is r�quested to begin the process of hiring a Secretary Aide for the Parks &.Recreata.on Department . By starting the process at this time it is hoped to advertise , interview , and bring the name of a recommended candidate to you to fill this posa.tion by December 7 , 1993 . This letter is to inform you that I am resigning my positian as part time secretary aide and giving my two weeks notice. I have enjoyed my term of employment with the City of Rosemount, and have particularly enjoyed working with you and the capable and dedicated staff of the Parks and Recreation Department. I am resigning my �position to enable me to spend more time working on starting my home typing and transcribing business. I xesign with mixed emotions; the loss of a close relationship with my co- workers, and the excitement and anxiety of starting my own business. I know that the department is going through many changes at the current time, but I am a firm believer that most, if not all, changes are for the best! Rosemount is growing by leaps and bounds, and I know that the Parks and Recreation Department will be working hard to keep our children and residents active and happy. Sinc rely, ; Ke ry B inger - s CITY OF ROSEMOUNT POSITION RESPONSIBILITY WRITE-UP DATE; OCTOBER 19, 1993 POSITION TITLE: Secretary Aide - Parks and Recreation Department DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Parks and Recreation SITIVIMARY OF POSITTON Responsible for providing secretarial support to the Parks and Recreation department. Duties include, but are not limited to: typing documents and routine correspondence; proofreading for typing accura.cy; taking and relaying messa.ges; and recording minutes for Parks and Recreation Committee meetings. DUTIE5 AND RESPONSIBILITTES 1. Types various reports, schedules, correspondence and documents for the Parks and Recreation Departments. 2. Completes secretariaUclerical duties necessary to provide assistance to the Parks and Recreation Department. 3. Assists with the organizing and filing of the departments. 4. Assists the department staff to receive, record, and transfer to the Finance department all monies collected for materials and/or services provided by the Parks and Recreaxion departments. 5. Answers the telephone and transfers calls or takes messages. 6. Attends Pazks and Recreation Committee meetings and records minutes. Assists with preparation of packets for meetings. 7. Performs such other duties as are consistent with the tasks of the position and as may be assigned. Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities: 1. Proven ability as a skilled typist in preparing reports, correspondence, and general forms. TYus ability should be with the use of a general typewriter as well as word processing equipment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITY WRITE-UP SECRETARY AIDE - PARBS AND RECREATION 2. Ability to communicate in a calm, clear, and concise manner. 3. Follow through on basic secretarial/clerical assignments including, but not limited to filing, coPYing, and typing. 4. Ability to deal with the public in a courteous, patient, and tactful manner which creates a favora.ble image of the city of Rosemount. 5. Good working habits and a willingness to coopera.te with others. Contributes in a way that will generate a positive and pleasant working environment for all city depa.rtments. Respond willingly to varied work assignments and schedules. 6. Understands and works to protect delicate andlor confidential matters of the city business operation. 7. Ability to communicate information and ideas in oral and written form. Must be capable to effectively communicate with personnel of other departments, with citizens and with appointed and elected officials. 8. Ability to work with minunal supervision. 9. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. MINIMUM nUALTFICATIONS Education and experience: 1. Gra.duate of a two year vocational school or special program in secretarial/stenogra.phy. 2. Six months experience providing secretarial services in an office environment. 3. Proficient at use of wordprocessing, 50 wgm typing or keyboarding, 4. Valid drivers license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
