Mr. Palmer Peterson, President for Bituminous Roadways, Inc. , has
applied for renewal of the Mineral Extraction Permit for a mining
operation on the Otto Ped property at 4992 145th Street East.
A public hearing must be conducted before the City Council can
consider approval of the Mineral Extraction Permit Renewal .
Planning staff i.s requesting that the City Council set a public
hearing for March 16, 1993 . The Plan.ning Commission reviewed the
application at their regular February 23, 1993 meeting and recommenc�ed
that the City Council set the date for �he Public` Hearing as
mentioned. The City Council will have the Planning Commission
recommendation regarding the Mineral Extraction Permit for their
-- consideration p��or t€��-the Public: Hearing. - �.�-
Recommended Action: A MOTION to set a Public Hearing for
Tuesday, March 16, 1993 at 8 . 00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as
possible to hear public testimony regarding the Mineral '
Extraction Permit Renewal for 4992 145th Street East, as '
requested by Bituminous Roadways, Inc.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the City Council of the City of Rosemount will hold a
public hearing on Tuesday, March 16, 1993 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
2875 145th Street West, beginning at 8:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible.
The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment on the application received
_ from Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for renewal of a Mineral Extraction Permit. Initially,
_ the Mineral Extraction Permit was to haue lasted three (3) years. The petitioner is now _
requesting ten (10) years for t�ie operation of the Mineral Extraction Permit.
Approxunately 2,000 tons of material were ex�racted in 1992. ' �
_ As set forth in the conditions of the permit, mineral extraction activity is limited to a site _,.
not to exceed 39 acres of the entire property. The subject property"is owned by Otto
Ped and is generally described as the-west $7'1z acres of the Southeast quarter and the
' --e�a,�t-75 acres of the Southwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 115, Range 18; subject —
to highway easement over the north SO feet (P.I.D. 34-02900-010-54) and addressed as
_ 4992 145th Street East. _ ,
Persons wishing to speak on this issue are invited to attend this City Council Meeting on
Tuesday, March 16, 1993 at 8:D0 p.m.
