Attached for Mayor McMenomy's consideration is a Prdclamatio proelaiming
Octaber 4-11 as Brain Injury Awareness Week in Rosemount. I
In my discussions with a representative of Dakota County Brain Injury
Network, this organization was just formed this year in an attempt to bring
awareness of such injuries to the attention of residents of Dakota County.
Apparently there are few rehabilitative services in Dakota County and
little housing for injured persons who could live independently if in a
group type home. Another reason for bringing this type of injury to the
� surface is that it is their hope that a networking system will bring
families and victims together. It is also their hope that more employment
opportunities will open up for victims of head injuries.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: PROCLAIM OCTOBER 4-11, 1993 AS BRAIN INJURY
AWARENESS WEEK IN ROSEMOUNT.
