The Planning Commission initiated this rezoning titi in response
ta a variance petition for an accessory building at the Rich Valley
Golf Course. The Planning Commission denied the variance because it
would have allowed for an expansion of a noncanforming use in
violation of the ordinance. The Commission felt it would be better
to consider changing the ordinance to clearly permit golf courses
open to the public and to rezone Mr. Rahn' s property to Public. The
Planning Commission initiated the amendments and directed staff to
bring back a text amendment to the next Planning Commission meeting.
Mr. Rahn has appealed the Planning Commission decision and a public
hearing will be 'set for September 7, 1993 as well . The City Council
can consider both items concurrently.
Reec�mmended Action: MOTION to schedule a public hearing for
September 7, 1993 at 8 :00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible
to hear public testimony regarding the rezoning of the Rich
Valley Golf Course from AG Agriculture to PUB Public/Quasi-Public
and a zoning ordinance text amendment to permit public golf
course facilities in the Public/Quasi-Public District.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the City Council of the City of Rosemount will hold a
Public Hearing to consider the item listed below an Tuesday, September 7, 1993 in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, 2875 145th Street West, beginning at 8:00 p.m., or as '
soon thereafter as possible. The public hearing listed below pertains to property located at
3855 145th Street East, legally described as follows: _
The East Haif of the Northwest Quarter (E1/z of NW'/a) along with the West Half of the
Northeast Quarter (Wlh of NE�/)of Section 30, Township 115, Range 18.
The purpose of this hearing is to consider a rezoning petition initiated by the City of
Rosemount Planning Commission for the rezoning of the above described property from
AG Agriculture to PUB Public/Quasi-Public and to amend the text of Ordinance B - C"ity
of Rosemount Zoning Ordinance that would allow for public golf courses in the PUB
Public/Quasi-Public District.
Persons wishing to speak on this rezoning recornmendation and text amendment are invited
to attend the meeting on Tuesday, Sentember 7. 1993 at 8:00 p.m. Written comments
will also be accepted prior to the meeting date. Please forward all.comments and inquiries
to the City of Rosemount Plannzng Department.
