This is a request for you to consider increasing the city' s election
judges ' compensation vy $1.00 an hour. Currently judges earn $4 .25/hour,
co-captains earn $4 . 50/hour and captains earn $5 . 00/hour. The city's
current rate of pay is low compared to other cities who on an average pay
judges $5 .50 an hour and captains $6 . 00/hour. I included this increase in
the 1993 Elections Operating Budget.
For your information, the city will not be providing lunches a:nd dinners as
we have done in the past. Judges will be required to bring their own
meals . Besides the e�ense of furnishing meals, Linda Jentink and myself
.were spending a great dAal of time delivering the meals twice a day when we
should have been available to answer questions or respand to problems at
the precincts. This decision was unanimously agreed upon by the captains
Gnd co-captains . Rosemou�t is one Qf the last cities in Dakota -Caunty to --
provide meals.
