Being a first in the City of Rosemount, a proclamation for °National
Building Safety Week" would reinforce the position of Council that
building safety is no accident. The general welfare and living
standards of our community require, as a matter of civic purpose,-
sound development and construction practices in which all people live
and work.
Through a proactive code enforcement program we will achieve maximum
coardination of municipal operations while encouraging solutions
through promotion of private actions. .
Recognition by proclamation would also help to rationa3ize and justify
the obscure misconceptions people have about City Code Administrators.
RECOIrIlriENDED ACTION: Mayor to proclaim the' week of April 12 through
April 16, 1993 as "National Building Safety Week" .

safety and welfare become an accomplished fact in everyday life through various code
enforcement measures; and

effective building maintenance from owners and occupants within the communiiy; ared
WSEREA.S, all segments in the building industry including designers, builders, buildi�zg
owners and occupants progressively promote, without prejudice, an active arad unifonn
buiiding safety awareness; and
WSEREAS, the support of an understanding and infanned citizenry is vital to the efficie�zt
operation development and promotion of ratio�tal safety regulaiions based on fact, without
prejudice; and
WH�REAS, qualified, decisive and industrious Building Depart�nent Staff wor�.zna witla
construction personnel and prope�ty owners can influence the integrity of all structures arzd
make them a safe place for work and famidy.
