Under a separate cover I sent the commissioners a signed Notice to Proceed
that permits the low bidder, Holst Excavating, to start the demolition and
site clearance of the Repairs, Inc. site. You will note the document is
signed December 1, 1993 . What this means is that the December 8 completion
date will not be met.
I have been on the site with Holst' s, Brad Ensrude. A perusal of the
property provided no visible problems according to Mr. Ensrude. However,
notification of state and federal agencies must be made and there is a
waiting period before demolition can be commenced. Mr. Ensrude believes
the actual work will take only a couple of days to complete. He promised
to get me a schedule later this week and I will provide it to you at the
December 7 meeting.
In this regard, I recommend waiving the penalty clause for each day after
December 8 that the work is not completed.
Notification would have been ma.de had I not been atten�3;ing the National
Development Council' s course on business credit analysis. No one picked up
my work in my absence.
The commissioners should review Holst' s schedule and take appropriate
action.
