Arlo Rhoads wishes to buy an industrial lot from the Rosemount Port
Authority with an option to buy two additional parcels .
I am expecting a written proposal from Mr. Rhoads shortly - and I hope
before the December 21 meeting - that will provide the commissioners with
more detail .
In summary, Mr. Wasmund and I visited with the Rhoads recently and learned
that Arlo and Renee wish to construct an industrial building with about
1,500 square feet of office space and 8, 000 to 10, 000 square feet of
warehouse area. The building would be occupied by the Rhoads for a year or
two and then sold. The Rhoads would then build a second and third building
following the same pattern.
Mr. Rhoads had spent some time looking for industrial property in this
general area and had found nothing suitable. He was pleased to learn the
port authority had available industrial land. Site is not of critical
importance to Mr. Rhoads and he has stated that he would be happy with land
adjacent to the railroad tracks.
If you have interest in the proposal, please direct your staff to continue
working with Mr. Rhoads.
