On November 4, 1993, the City Council hired Jim Brimeye:r of Brimeyer Group to conduct the
selection process for the city's next city adrninistrator. This hiring was done as a result of a
proposal submitted and reviewed by Mr. Brimeyer on Novnmber 4.
City Attorney Mike Miles has reviewed the proposal and has rendered a legal opinion that the
proposal may be signed by Mayor McMenamy.
Brimeyer's proposal request one-third of the fee be paid u�on signing this agreement.
I am recommending that Council apprave payment in the ��mount of 54,500 to be paid from
Council Designated Account #101-41110-01-598. I am rE�commending the expenditure from
this account rather than the account budgeted for the city administrator's sa{ary and benefits
since two additional expenditures have been paid from it. Mr. Jilk's severance pay was paid
from this account. Also this account will be used to pay i�or additional salary paid to Ron
Wasmund as interim city administrator.
For 1994 payments to Mr. Brimeyer, it is my intention to i:ake the money from funds budgeted
for the city administrator salary and benefits (1 01-41 320-�2-101).
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AUTHORIZE ONIE-THIRD PAYMENT, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $4,500, TO THE BRIMEYER GROUP FOR CONSULTING SERVICES TO HIRE A
CITY ADMINISTRATOR FROM ACCOUNT #1 01-41 1 1 0-01-598.
