Subject: Port Authority
In view of the fact that our authorization for a port
authority was taken from the St. Paul model I respectfully
request that the City Council direct the City Attorney to
look into the legality and time it would take to allow non-
resident business people to apply for the board.
I ask this because it is apparent that when we initially set
up the Port Authority that we mistakenly left out some very
important stake holders in the growth of our community. Such
as the business that contribute to our economy such as Ace
Hardware, Loch Pharmacy, Peoples Natural Gas and Grife Bros.
just to name a few. It would be very unfortunate for everyone
concerned if we did not allow them a chance to apply for and
set on the board. I see by the applications that John Loch
has taken it upon himself to apply already and 1 think the
others would also if given the chance.
