Dear Bud:
On September 25, 1992 at 11:00 a.m., six bids were received for the above referenced
project. The bids ranged from a high of $430,698.00 to a low of $326,814.00. The low bid
was submitted by Richard Knutson, Inc. A summary of the bids is attached for your
review.
In reliance on our experience with Richard Knutson, Inc. and materials and information
provided by the contractor, we have determined that they (1) have sufficient
understanding of the project and equipment to perform the construction for which it bid;
and (2) according to their bonding agent they presently have the financial ability to
complete the project bid. SEH makes no representation or warranty as to the actual
financial viability of the contractor or its ability to complete its work.
Accordingly we recommend the project be awarded to Richard Knutson, Inc. in the
amount of $326,814.00, contingent upon the City's receipt of all permits and easements.
Sincerely,
David R Simons, P.E.
