The president of RAAA, Tom Neumann, and two other members of their board of
directors, Steve Reischauer and Terry Langager, will be in attendance at
the council meeting. They would like to share with you information
regarding their programs and the RAAA structure.
Their primary motive for coming before you is to thank you for your
interest and support of their programs.
Tom Neumann served as the Director of the Inhouse Soccer program for the
past several years. He and the director of the Traveling Soccer program
have worked to raise approximately $5,000 to use for the purchase of
materials for constructing soccer goals.
Combined with the Traveling Soccer donations they have purchased_ most of
the steel that was required for constructing of ten sets of soccer goals
for the parks. Our staff along with Bob Barfknecht of the Public Works
Department completed the construction process by welding the steel for the
goals.
At a recent council meeting, approval was given to the Park Department to
purchase metal boxes for the parks to serve as athletic storage boxes.
Once again, donations from the soccer programs of $3,000 were used to
assist with that purchase.
I mention the issue of donations to set the tone for our guests who will be
meeting with you at the February 4, 1992 council meeting. The tone is one
of appreciation and gratitude for your effort.
