Fire Department Expenditure for Maintenance Contract / SCBA CompressorCITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 4, 1992 AGENDA ITEM: Expenditure/Maintenance Contract On SCBA Compressor AGENDA SECTION: Consent PREPARED BY: Scott Aker, Fire Chief AGENDA EM # 4E- ATTACHMENTS:Bid AP VED B v This item is a request for authorization to -engage the services of 'Compress Air and Equipment Company to perform annual maintenance checks and repairs to our self-contained breathing apparatus air compressor. Up until this time we have been paying them for service calls on an annual basis at approximately $300 - $400 per year. This charge included routine maintenance once a year. Any additional repairs that needed to be done were done on an as needed basis at costs above and beyond the annual checks and we were charged for time and materials. Most of the items which required repairing in the past would be covered under this maintenance agreement. This maintenance agreement would also provide for the sampling of the air which we are using in our self-contained breathing apparatus. This is a requirement --which we have not been able to comply with in the past. Money to enter into such a contract is available in our 1992 budget in Account #101-42210-01-230 and 313. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to authorize the fire department to engage the services of Compress Air and Equipment Company for a maintenance contract on the self-contained breathing apparatus compressor at an annual cost of $825.00 with funds to be expended from Accounts #101-42210-01-230 and 313.
