The furniture currently in use is all that which has been discarded and adapted for use in the Police Department over the years with the exception of the Chief's office furniture. The remaining furniture is all in poor condition with missing trim and non-functioning drawers. We therefore request that we be allowed to replace the furniture currently in use. Funds for this purchase would come from the CIP designated for furniture purchase. I have broken down the Police Department into areas and outlined the items which are needed in these areas (see attachments). The furniture would be purchased from Wagers Inc. in Saint Paul with a total cost not to exceed $6,000. RECOMMENDED ACTIONi Approve purchase of office furniture for the Police Department at a cost not to exceed $6,000. Funds will come from the C.I.P. account number 202-49002-01-570.
