Those plans and specs have been _drawn and are being presented to Council this evening for your approval. Mr. Neil Weber will ;be present to discuss the specs with you and to give a general overview of the project. This will include general schedules for advertising, receiving of bids', coming back to Council to accept those bids, and the Council awarding of the contract for construction. Individual jobs map require higher strength materials but these will be the exceptions and will be listed on the blueprint. 1. FABRIC MESH: 2" Mesh - 6, 9 or 11 gauge aluminum coated steel wire which conforms to ASTM A491, per specification. 2. RAILS: 1 5/8" O.D.Schedule 20 galvanized pipe [1.85 lbs/ft] 1 5/8" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized pipe [1.97 lbs/ft] 2" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized pipe [2.25 lbs/ft] 3. LINE POST: 2 3/8" O.D. Schedule 20 galvanized pipe [4.60 lbs/t]. 4. END/CORNER POST: All posts must be capped 3" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized pipe [4.64 lbs/ft]. 3 1/2" O.D. Schedule galvanized pipe [4.60 lbs/ft]. 4" U.D. Schedule galvanized pipe [9.36 lbs/ft]. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: 1. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials and skilled supervision necessary to complete the various fencing projects as described by these specifications and within the plans attached. All work will be executed in a professional workmanlike manner, that presents a neat finished appearance upon completion. 2. Contractors shall confine all work and materials to the area of the individual project site. All areas adjacent to the sites must be free of debris, materials, tools, etc,. at all times. 3. The site may be occupied during construction work. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to provide adequate security for all materials at each project site. 4. The contractor will be responsible for securing, paying and complying with all permits needed to complete these projects. The owner will pay all permit fees. All materials and workmanship will be in compliance with any Minnesota State Codes and Statutes that may pertain to such construction. 5. The contractor will be held responsible for contact with the utility companies if required. All utilities must be properly located BEFORE construction begins. b. It will the responsibility of the contractor to supply all utilities at no additional cost to the City as needed for the completion of these projects. 7. The contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the site in a clean and hazard free environment during construction. The contractor will also remove any and all debris from the site in a timely manner. Site clean-up completion is considered by the City as included within the "time frame" paragraph specifications. 8. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to do all excavating, trenching, and backfilling as necessary to complete maintenance strip. All costs for excavation work required to complete the project shall be included within the unit pricing on the Bid Sheet. MISCELLANEOUS: 1. Bidders shall be local firms, located and conducting business within a 50 mile radius of Rosemount. 2. Bidders must be an established professional contractor with a minimum of 3 continuous years of business. Bidders shall provide at least five [5] references which the City may call to help determine the Contractor's reliability and quality of workmanship. COMPLIANCE: 1. Any bid not complying with these specifications or deviations not listed on the bid form could be reason for rejection. Where additional features are included at no cost to the City, they may be noted on the bid form but are not required. SUBMITTAL: 1. These specifications are provided as minimum specifications for submitting of bids and will be incorporated within the contractual agreement made with the successful bidder. If a bidder takes exception to any statement or conditions within these specifications, the bid must CLEARLY state what the exception is. 2. In submitting a bid, the bidder understands and accepts all conditions and specifications as presented except as stipulated in the bid, and accepts the right of the City to accept or reject any or all bids and award the purchase in the best interest of the City.
