At the October 6, 1992 regularly scheduled City Council meeting,
Council directed Staff to have "No Parking" signs (with stipulations)
installed on 143rd Street, Upper 143rd Street and 144th Street between
Cantata and Cimarron Avenues; and Cantata and Cimarron Avenues
between 143rd Street and 144th Street. Upon further investigation,
Staff has fouad that Council must pass a resolution directing
placement of "No Parking" signs to prohibit parking on a City street.
Staff recomme ds that Council adopt a resolution directing placement
of "No Parkin " signs in the above referenced neighborhood.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF
NO PARKING SIGNS
ALONG 143RD STREET, UPPER 143RD STREET, 144TH STREET
BETWEEN CANTATA
AND CIMARRON AVENUES AND CANTATA AVENUE AND CIMARRON
AVENUE BETWEEN 143RD
STREET AND 144TH STREET.

A RES LUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF NO PARKING
SIGNS ALONG 143RD STREET, UPPER 143RD STREET AND 144TH STREET
BETWEEN CANTATA AND CIMARRON AVENUES; AND
CANTATA AVENUE AND CIMARRON AVENUE BETWEEN 143RD STREET
AND 144TH STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount is interested In the safety of its
residents; and
WHEREAS, the continued development in the City of Rosemount has produced high
volumes of vehic lar and pedestrian traffic within the City of Rosemount; and
WHEREAS, the Ic cation of the High School and the resulting parking by students in
the neighborhood described as follows, 143rd Street, Upper 143rd Street and 144th
Street between Cantata and Cimarron Avenues; and Cantata Avenue and Cimarron
Avenue between 143rd Street and 144th Street, does create a safety hazard.
NOW THEREFOR E BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount
directs the install ition of the appropriate "No Parking signs on both sides of 143rd
Street, Upper 14 rd Street, 144th Street between Cantata and Cimarron Avenues;
and Cantata Aver ue and Cimarron Avenue between 143rd Street and 144th Street.
