P& R AGENDA Ifft ITEM # 50 DAVID ATTACSbSENTS : APP VED Y • COPY OF EQUIPMENT DESIGN The plans and specifications drawn for the porch e and nstallation of play equipment in Jaycee park were accepted by Council action at a previous meeting. Authorization was given to advertise for sealed bids_ relating to that project, J - 92.1. A major part of thespecificationsincluded the process by which a final bidder would be accepted. Citizens from the Jaycee Park area who had .been attending meetings pertaining to this project had been placed on a mailing list. Those citizens and others from the Jaycee Park area.. Parks & Recreation Committee Members, and _Parks & Recreation Staff members were to make a final vote and selection on the evening of May 26, 1992. That vote would be taken following twenty minute presentations of each of ,the participating bidders. Four bids were received with three of the submitting bidders taking part in the presentations on that evening ofMay26th. Bids were received from Earl F. Andersen. Inc., Bob Klein & Associates, Value Recreation, and Flanagan Sales... only the representative of Value Recreation did not present. Following the presentations a vete was taken of the citizens committee. Through this process the firm of Earl F. Andersen was selected as the bidder to recommend to council. our committee felt just as I did, "that each of the designs were unique and well designed". It was a difficult decision, however, the process has ended with the recommendation being made. The budgeted amount of this project, J -- 92.1, is $ 35,000 from account # -202 - 24413.
