This item is a request to engage the repair services of Emergency Apparatus
Maintenance Inc. to perform repairs on the pump of our aerial truck. A bid
is attached from Emergency Apparatus.
Further information about this expenditure will be provided to you in a
Department Head report.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to allow the fire department to engage the services of
Emergency Apparatus Maintenance to repair thepumpon the aerial truck
at an estimated cost of $7,000. Monies for this expenditure will be
paid from Account #101-42210-01-221 and #101-42210-01-229.

Per a conversation on 12-10-91 I have estimated the repairs on
the friction clutch assembly for the pump on your ladder truck.
Pump IC100 SN. A10117. According to Godiva the parts needed
are 3 gears, 2 shafts, 5 bearings, 2 seals, gasket set and
miscellaneous fasteners. The total parts price would be $2857.30,
plus freight. If all parts listed above were needed, the labor
estimate would be approximately $1900.00.
I would suggest we pull the impeller and inspect it and the wear
rings seeing we will have the pump out anyway and the NFPA test
showed possible wear in the area, if needed the impeller and
wear rings are $1936.00. The additional labor would be approximately
$210.00. All work would be done at our shop in Blaine. Pick up
and delivery would be extra.
