The Planning Commission has begun their review of the National
Guard Armory, Community Center, and Ice Arena site plan as
required by the Zoning Ordinance. At their July 14, 1992
Regular Planning Commission Meeting, a motion was passed to
recommend that the City Council set a public hearing for a
Comprehensive Guide Plan Amendment so that sanitary sewer can be
provided to the project site.
The site is zoned p blic and designated as public in the
existing Comprehens've Guide.Plan. It is not within the
Metropolitan Urban 3ervices Boundary and that is why it is
necessary to amend he Comprehensive Plan. Metropolitan Council
staff have indicatei to the City that this is considered a minor
guide plan amendmen and the City will be able to place it into
effect after an adm'nistrative review by the Metropolitan
Council staff. Therefore, Planning staff is confident that this
process will not in erfere with the construction timeline.
The Planning Commission will review the proposed amendment at
their July 28, 1992 meeting and will provide -a recommendation
for Council consideration on August 4, 1992.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTI N to set a Public Hearing for Comprehensive
,Guide Plan No. 23 on Tuesday, August 4, 1992 in the
Council Chambers at City Hall at 8:00 p.m. or as
soon thereafter as possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIV'''EN, the City Council of the City of Rosemount will hold a public
hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 1992 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 2875 145th
Street West, beginning at 8:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible.
The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments on a proposed amendment to the
Rosemount Comprehensive Ctuide Plan which would include the Rosemount Armory site
within the City's Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA) in order to provide sanitary sewer
service to the facility. The Public Hearing pertains to property located west of State Trunk
Highway 3 (South Robert Trail) at Dodd Boulevard, legally described as P.I.D. No. 34-02010-
013-55.
Persons wishing to speak on ,this issue are invited to attend this meeting on Tuesday, August
4, 1992 at 5:00 p.m.
