Construction of the Erickson Community Square 9nd`7 cee Par inks has
been discussed at p evious meetings. On another agenda item this
evening is the requ st to accept the bids and award the contracts for
the lighting of those rinks.
Jim Koslowski' has c mpleted the project of obtaining quotes for
materials and labor for the construction of the hockey<rinks, the labor
and materials for the back drop on the ends of the rinks, the paint,
and the steel for reinforcement of thecornerareas.
Quotes received were or the total of three rinks as listed below.
RINK MATERIALS:
Lamperts $ 10,617 (11,017) ($ 3,690 per rink)
Stock Lumber 10,057 (10,457) ($ 3,485 per rink)
Dakota Lumber 9,315 ( 9,715) - ($ 3,238 per rink)
NOTE: $,400.00 ADDED TO -EACH QUOTE FOR A MATERIAL CHANGE
Only one vendor quoted the labor required to complete the rink
construction. Dakota Fence Co. returned a quote of $ 11,550 to
construct the three rinks. That is a total of $ 3,850 per rink. The
Park Staff feels that we should plan to construct the rinks inhouse
at this time.
The project number for this Project is J -- 92.4 for Jaycee Park and
A - 92.2 for Erickson Community Square The funding for J - 92.4 is
scheduled to come from CIP # 532. The funding for A - 92.2 in Erickson
Community Square is scheduled to come from account # 202 - 2441.
The estimated cost of the rinks has been $ 11,000 The total with the
back drop fence and installation of that fence, the paint, and the
steel the -total ''estimated cost is $ 7,427 per rink.
RECObD=ED ACTION: Motion is to receive quotes and to award the
contract for the r nk materials to Dakota Lumber for $ 9.715 with
$ 6,477 to come from GIP account # 202 -.2441 and $ 3,238 to come from
CIP account # 532 for rink projects A - 92.2 and J- 92.4,
