Through literature that we have received and contacts that we
have made, it has been brought to our attention that our mileage
reimbursement rate isout of line with the standard rate that is
allowed by the IRS. Our current rate of reimbursement is
19 cents per mile, while the standard rate allowed by the IRS is
28 cents per mile for 1992. We have not changed our
reimbursement rate for the last 7 years(at least) and feel that
now would be an appropriate time to do so.. The additional costs
that the City incur will be minimal and still give our employees
the knowledge that we are treating them as fairly as possible.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt -A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATE FOR CITY USE OF PERSONAL VEHICLES from the
current 19 cents per mile to a new rate of 28 cents per mile effective
immediately.

RESOLUTION 1992 -
A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT
RATE FOR CITY USE OF PERSONAL VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to increase the
mileage reimbursement rate for City use of personal vehicles from
19 cents per mile to 28 cents per mile, as allowed by the IRS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Rosemount hereby approves the increase of the mileage
reimbursement rate for City use of personal vehicles to 28 cents
per mile.
ADOPTED this 7th day of April, 1992.
