This is a request for council to approve my recommendation (0/hire Cheryle
Coughlin as the city's new receptionist.
From the approximately 90 applications the city received for this position,
Debbie Widstrom and myself interview six candidates. Following the six
interviews, Debbie and I agreed Cheryle Coughlin had the qualifications for
the position.
Since 1984 Ms. Coughlin has been employed at NationwideAdvertisingService
in Minneapolis where she was employed as a general support person. In this
position she performed word processing, bookkeeping, typing, filing;`
copying, mail, data entry and served as backup receptionist Ms Coughlin
informed us she very much likes her present ,job, but would like the
convenience of working closer to home which is in Rosemount.
It my recommendation that you approve the hiring of Cheryle Coughlin for
the position of receptionist with a`starting date of July 6, 1992 subject
to her passing the pre-employment physical and driver's license check. Ms
Coughlin will start at the bottom of the receptionist's position salary
range ($8.67), move to the bottom of the B range after a six month
successful probationary period and progress through the salary range
according to the administrative policy.
