Each softball season weekend tournaments are scheduled at Erickson
Park. Tournament directors who sell beer as a part of the
concession sales are required to purchase a non - intoxicating
liquor license from the city.
The procedure that we have followed in past years was to generate
a list of the tournament dates and present that list to the
council for license approval. This allows one motion to approve
all licenses rather than to have this item come before the council -
for each of th.e tournament dates.
Council approval of the license would be effective basedupon
proof of the insurance and payment of -the $30.00 license fee to
City Clerk Sue Walsh at the time of the issuance of the license to
the tournament committee.
The tournament dates are as follows:
June 5-6-7
June 12-13-14
June 26-27-28
July 17-18-19
July 24-25-26
Other tournaments offered this summer involve youth sports of
baseball, softball, and soccer or adult programs where beer is not
sold as a part of the concession sales.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Move to approve the issuance of temporary on -sale
non -intoxicating liquor licenses to the Rosemount Softball
Assocation subject to proof of insurance and payment of license
fee to be used at Erickson Park for the dates listed.
