We have been working with representatives of the community wh are
attempting to put together a package to establish the construction of an
ice arena attached to the proposed Rosemount Community Center._
This group has hired an architect to put together preliminary drawings and
designs for the arena. They have met with the city architect to discuss
the difference between the City's design and this groups design. There are
significant cost differences between the two designs as shown with
preliminary estimates and the exact differences and how they are costing
out are now being reviewed.
This group is putting together a program whereby revenue from ice time at
the arena will pay debt service on the construction. We will also be
looking at all possible alternatives for financing through the City.
The group, represented by Ron Pederson, will be making a presentationon
their concepts and ideas for your information.
