The Chamber of Commerce has voted to take on a fund raising project which
directly effects a city project. At the last general Chamber meeting, the
Chamber through its "Special Events Committee" voted to raise funds for the
:completion of the amphitheater at the Erickson Town Square project. This
project is part of the master plan for the overall development of Erickson
Town Square and its cost is estimated at about $200,000..
Mr. John Loch, representing the Chamber would like to formally announce
this effort to the Council.
John has also researched the idea of developing a "Sister City" program
with a community in the area of the former Soviet Union. John has made
contact with an international business person and who may provide
assistance in developing such a program.
John's purpose in presenting this idea to you of course is to solicit your
support and consideration for official "city participation".
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Thank the Chamber for their financial support on the Erickson Town
Square project and consider the city's support for the "Sister City
project.
