The Port Authority has discussed purchase and redevelopment of the Soo Line
property located at the corner of C.R. 42 and T.H. 3. This triangular
piece of land is presently rented by a business doing truck repair.
The railroad has indicated a willingness to sell the property and has asked
the Port Authority to submit an offer. The railroad real estate people
indicated they would like to see an appraisal submitted with the offer.
I've contacted the Allen Company and Mel Allen has agreed to complete an
appraisal for an amount not to exceed $500.00.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to authorize the Allen Company to complete an appraisal of the
Soo Line property located at the intersection of C.R. 42 and T.H. 3 for
an amount not to exceed $500.00.
