CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION
NOVEMBER 17, 1992
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a closed executive session was
called to order on November 17, 1992 in the Council Lounge of City Hall,
2975 - 145th Street West.
Chairperson Dunn called the session to order with all members present.
Also in attendance were Executive Director Jilk, Economic Development
Coordinator Miller, and Attorney Tom Fabel from the Vennum & Lindquist law
firm.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Strese property purchase and
Rosemount Ice Company relocation. Considerable discussion centered around
the lack of coordination and initiative being experienced in the process of
trying to acquire the Strese and Highway 3 Armory business properties and
their subsequent relocations. As a result of this dissatisfaction, it was
suggested that the Port Authority engage the services of the Lindquist &
Vennum law firm to handle the Authority's condemnation proceedings and
relocations activities. A concern was raised that other law firms were not
being allowed to submit a proposal for services. Since time was of the
essence because of the upcoming hearing regarding condemnation of the
Strese property, a consensus was reached that the Port Authority should
hire the Lindquist and Vennum law firm for the purpose of handling
condemnation proceedings and relocation activities.
Chairperson Dunn adjourned the closed executive session at 7:32 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Deborah Widstrom
