With regard to Port Authority finances, there are several current issues
that include:
* Preparation of 1993 budget
* Bonding for the addition to the community center
* Pending purchase of several properties
In addition, there has been general and informal discussion that the
authority is to be involved in downtown redevelopment, creation of an
industrial park, and other new retail and commercial ventures.
To give all of us a better idea of our financial ability to complete this
work, the commissioners may want to visit with Mary Dyrseth, Dan O'Neill,
and possibly Jeff May. Even a short presentation by them might give us
better insight to the funding process. If the financial people attend the
July 21st meeting, it would also allow for specific questions regarding th,
Armory/Community Center bond sale.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to ask the Authority's financial advisers to attend the July
21st meeting for the purpose of a general review of the Authority's
financial position.
